1st D’Zine Office Solutions

After winning the tender 1st D'Zine Office Solutions were asked to design an air-conditioning/comfort cooling solution suitable for the 4-floor building, ensuring all fire and building regulations were met. The project had to be run under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
We calculated the amount of cooling required based on the square metres per floor and the maximum number of persons per area. We installed a heat pump system, in conjunction with fresh air intakes, individually-controlled with a centralised control for each floor. A concealed ducted system within the suspended ceiling voids was installed in line with the layout of each floor.
Each floor had 1 heat pump and 12 independent air-conditioning fan coils installed with ducting grilles and wired remote control units.
The enable the air-conditioning to work effectively a fresh air system was installed. Each floor had 10 independent systems connected to 20 4-way throw white supply diffusers, to distribute fresh air evenly. External holes were drilled on all floors to install the fresh air vents.
Following planning consent, we excavated an area to the car park, laid a concrete plinth with surrounding fencing and installed 6 inverter-driven heat pump condensers.
In conjunction with the works, we undertook all electrical requirements, including power supplies for each new unit and a ring circuit to each floor to provide for the fresh air fans. A cable link was installed to the existing fire alarm panel to enable a full shut down upon the activation of the fire alarm.
The works were undertaken out of normal working hours during the evenings and weekends. The full project was completed under schedule and to budget.
