The project

We were commissioned to work to a layout plan, providing cost-effective partition systems and furniture over 2 floors. As part of a large relocation, we scheduled the works so as to ensure a quick turnaround.

The work

We installed two types of partitioning systems, but mainly a 2" lightweight demountable system made up of aluminium head tracks and upright posts with 48mm plasterboard faced honeycomb panels. Each board was then decorated with a paper-backed vinyl. This system provides a 30 dbRw sound reduction. In conjunction with this, we installed glazed panels, each 600mm wide by 2000mm high with blinds.

The other partition system installed was a 3" stud and board system made up from 50mm steel stud and track with 12.5mm plasterboards. 60mm insulation quilt was fitted to void giving a 43 dbRw sound reduction. This was then decorated with a paper-backed vinyl.

The door modules for both systems included a vision panel and were finished in ash, each door having an aluminium lever on rose with a 3-lever lock.

Following the partitioning works we installed 50 cantilever crescent desk workstations, each with a 3-drawer desk-high pedestal and fabric dividing screens. The operators' chairs, with height-adjustable arms, were selected by the client for each workstation. Their fabric finish was was chosen to match the corporate image.

Full height timber storage units with tambour fronts formed the main storage, in conjunction with desk-high double-door storage units which also provide additional worktop space.

The full project was completed within schedule and on budget.
